Paper and data combust at different temperatures, with paper combusting at 177°C and data corrupting at just 52°C. Magnetic data storage devices are sensitive, easily damaged and susceptible to low levels of heat or humidity.
Manufacturers recommend the following guidelines for maximum exposure
- For heat items must not exceed 52°C
- For humidity items must not exceed 85%
Fire safes are not suitable for protecting data due to the different temperatures at which paper and data are damaged. Data safes are also designed to keep the inside of the safe below 85% humidity, preventing damage from moisture
Warranties vary by range and can be found on each product page. All of our fire resistant products have a free lifetime ‘after the fire’ replacement warranty, and a full 2 year onsite materials and labour warranty.
We can provide a quote to remove and dispose of old/unwanted safes. We require the following information in order to provide an accurate quote:
- Make and model or dimensions and weight of the safe
- The collection address
- Any access restrictions (Does the safe need to be removed via stairs, lift, steps etc)
- Do you have access to the safe (The keys/code/combination)
On each product page you will find a list of online stockists who stock that particular product. You can also find a list of all of our online and local stockists on our stockists page.
You can search for instructions on our support centre, or alternatively they can be found on a products individual product page. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Get in touch and we’ll be happy to help!
The cash rating of a safe is determined using factors such as door and wall thickness, the quality of the lock and the standard of construction. High security graded safes are built to the construction standard required by their grade; the higher the grade, the higher the cash rating will be.
Cash ratings are approximate and may vary due to location and area conditions, please check with your underwriter.

We hold combination numbers and master codes for certain models. Following security checks and proof of purchase verification, we can provide this information to the customer or their engineers. Please call our technical department on +44 (0) 151 944 6447 if you require help with your combination numbers.

Phoenix Safe offer a free after the fire warranty on all of our fire resistant safes. In the event of a fire, your Phoenix fire safe will protect the contents for the duration that the model has been tested to. Once the site is declared safe to enter we can arrange for an engineer to come and open the safe, and you will receive a new safe free of charge.
Serial numbers are generally found on the outside of the safe; usually on the left side in the top right corner, on a silver or white sticker.
Model or series numbers are usually located on the front of the safe, generally on the safe fascia near to the lock.

From the 1st April 2022, any organisation that manufactured or imported 10 or more tonnes of plastic packaging within the last 12 months or plans to do so in the next 30 days must register and pay the Plastic Packaging Tax. Phoenix Safe Company can confirm that due to us being under the 10-tonne threshold the Plastic Packaging Tax isn’t applicable to our company. We will however continue to monitor this. We will also continue to work on improving the recyclability and or recycled content of the packaging we use.
